The month of August scored a +8.3% of TEUs moved at TMT compared to August 2020. The positive trend in the traffic of full containers is continuing, along with the recovery of volumes for empty and transhipment containers.

Beginning September 10, the new rail service connects Trieste Marine Terminal directly to Ludwigshafen, Germany.

On September 6th the new representation office of the Port Authority of Trieste and Alpe Adria was inaugurated in Budapest. This new opening adds to the pre-existing offices of T.O. Delta in the city and confirms the strong relationship between Hungary and the Port of Trieste.

Starting in mid-September TMT will launch a rail service connecting directly the container terminal of Molo VII in Trieste with Terminal Tricon in Nuremberg.

Compagnia Portuale of Monfalcone has been sold by TO Delta Group to F2i – Italian Funds for Infrastructures, with the aim to further consolidating its position in the container compartment.

A bright beginning of July at Trieste Marine Terminal, as far as project cargoes are concerned: 2 items weighing 95 tons each were discharged from a CMA-CGM container ship and subsequently 4 items, weighing 160 tons each, were loaded on the same vessel, allowing in the meantime regular dry cargo operation to be carried out. 

A new intra-mediterranean maritime service is now operational, further widening the already existing network offered by the main shipping lines via Trieste.

The first semester of 2021 displays a “light and shade” result in the volumes handled at Trieste Marine Terminal compared to the first semester 2020: +15% of full cntr but -39% on the empty cntr handlings, for a total of 315.381 teus handled, overall -7.5% less than 2020.

The Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea continues in the enhancement of the infrastructures serving the port of Trieste.
